The US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has issued a warning against cookware made by Indian company Saraswati Strips Pvt. Ltd., sold under the brand name Tiger White. Tests revealed that utensils made of aluminium, brass, and alloys could leach dangerous levels of lead into food. The FDA also found imported cookware like Hindalium and Indalium unsafe. Lead exposure is highly toxic, especially for children, causing learning issues, kidney damage, and hypertension. The FDA has urged consumers to stop using and discard such cookware immediately and advised retailers to discontinue sales to prevent health risks.
